Ingredients:

  1. 2-4 ounces of Tequilia

  2. ½ cup vegetable oil

  3. ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  4. 1 tsp black pepper

  5. 1 medium onion, sliced

  6. 1-2 cups whole mushrooms

  7. Creole seasoning to taste

 

Method:

Mix together tequila, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar, Creole Seasoning (found in your grocery store), and black pepper. Take deer steaks and a hammer type meat tenderizer and beat the hell out of them. Place the steaks in a glass casserole dish and poor the tequila mixture over the top of them. Turn them over several times to make sure that they are well coated. Place the dish in the refrigerator for a couple of hours turning the steaks once in a while to make sure they soak up as much juice as possible. Take the steaks out of the pan and cook them as desired. These steaks are very good cooked outside on the grill. Sauté the onions and mushrooms in the remaining marinade and a little butter and serve with the steaks. This recipe is really good for those really tough game animals. Also works well on game birds and chicken (fowl as we call it at home). Just don't beat the hell out of the birds first.
